6 Ways to Keep Your Audience Engaged

It is important to keep your audience engaged because an engaged audience is more likely to pay attention, understand, and retain the information being presented. They are also more likely to be motivated to take action or make a change based on what they have learned. An engaged audience is more likely to provide feedback and participate in discussions, which can be valuable in understanding their perspectives and tailoring your message to better meet their needs. Here are my 6 Tips to keep your audience engaged

  1. Don’t box yourself into one niche – become your own niche. Now this might seem to contradict something I have said before (example- pick a specific niche). However, that ‘pick one specific niche’ is JUST TO GET STARTED. If you do all the things, you will feel overwhelmed. Once you get your initial launch off the ground, produce ‘your own niche’ because your audience isn’t one dimensional. Be unique and memorable!!
  2. Hype is real yo – You have to create the culture and community. When other people see your posts, whether they are on social media, blog, podcast, whatever your medium, they will ALWAYS look at the hype around you. If the see other people loving you and hyping you up, then they will too. Kind of like peer pressure for your business.
  3. Predictability – ok – so here is the thought process of your next potential client. They will remember they liked it before and watch/read/listen to the next piece of content you produce. Eventually, you will nurture that person in to your next paying client through your email program or other strategy.
  4.  Predictability is comforting. So basically, you’re next potential client knows what type of content you produce, and what type of value you provide. They will come searching for you, because they know when they look at your blog, Youtube, social media, whatever, the EXACT type of education they will receive.
  5. Keep them hooked. When you provide life updates or refers to there posts or videos, you make your audience feel like they are in the know. Everybody wants to feel like they belong and be a part of the in crowd. Make them feel like they are part of the community. When you refer to other posts, they will either 1) go and find those posts so they can see what in the world you are talking about 2) feel special because they are like, “oh yeah, I saw that and know exactly what she is referring too”.
  6. Plant the seeds for the future – When you post a piece of content, reference something for your client to expect. This helps them become aware for the future. The next time they see the next post, they will 1) feel special because they knew this was already coming 2) feel excited because you finally published that content 3) Feel VIP because, duh they predicted this was coming.

Engaging your audience leads to more success in achieve your goals, whether it be increasing sales, promoting a cause, or sharing knowledge If you are working on keep your audience engaged, then your new audience engagement will increase too!
