Does Cream Makeup Work with My Oily Skin?

I am always getting questions on, “does this type of make up work with my (fill in the blank) skin?” In this post you will read about, does this makeup work with oily skin? YES!! You can I use this make up with oily skin! Your oily skin is likely because your body is overcompensating because it thinks that your skin is not hydrated enough.

Again I say, Yes, you absolutely can. With the right preparation and products this one palette cream make is perfect for you. Seint make up is one of the best products for oily skin- why? Because LESS IS MORE!! The fact that this make is COMPLETELY BUILDABLE is what really gives this product a leg up against the rest. Liquid and powder foundations can dry out your skin and will trigger your body to produce more oils. Cream makeup is highly pigmented. What does that mean? That means – LESS IS MORE – and you don’t need to apply so much product to achieve the coverage you need.

Like most skin care routines, I assume at some point you cleansed your face. So these are the next steps you should follow for oily skin.

  1. Use a toner – go ahead and take a soft cotton ball and apply your toner. A good toner should do the following to your skin
    1. Refresh
    2. Maintain proper pH – your skin will produce excess oil after cleansing your skin. This is because cleansing your skin strips your skin of it’s natural oils. Proper toners will rejuvenate and replace the moisture to your face
    3. Exfoliate dead skin – Toners can gently remove dead skin and other impurities thar remain on the skin because they contain exfoliating agents
    4. Tighten your pores – Some toners contain extracts that can shrink your pores will help eliminate painful blemishes.
  2. Use your favorite silicone free moisturizer – Silicone free moisturizers work best with this cream based make up. Once you apply this, you will want to wait about 20 minutes before applying makeup.
  3. Use shine paper/blotting tissue paper to soak up excess oil
  4. Apply make up as usual. You can check out here and here for more.
    1. I CAN PERSONALLY color match you, here!!
  5. Use blotting tissue paper to remove any excess oil once your make up is applied.
  6. Use a Perfector Sponge, setting spray and setting powder to dab in to your skin. Using the squishy sponge will help apply the setting powder in to your skin for a clean finish.
