Is Mira Murati the most powerful WOMEN (scratch that), most powerful PERSON in tech right now!? She is the CTO of OpenAI, the only female executive, at the parent company of ChatGPT. Notably, OpenAI was voted Fast Company’s Most Innovative Company of 2023. What a freaking accomplishment! I can only dream! One day Nappy Hour Network will get there!
A Quick History of Mira Murati
Mira Murati was born in 1988… (and her accomplishments since then are incredible). The Albanian, Thayer School of Engineering Dartmouth graduate has always had a history with AI. She worked for Tesla, leading the development of the Model X. She then moved over to Leap Motion working on VR based technology. In 2018, she started working for OpenAI and has since climbed that corporate ladder to Chief Technology Officer of the fastest growing consumer application in history, ChatGPT.
Mira seems to keep much of her personal life quiet (we could all probably learn a thing or two from her on this).
Mission
Mira is focused on how humans will interact with AI and wants OpenAI’s systems to learn from real, live humans. She is also a huge advocate for there to be guardrails around AI and how we, as humans, should be able to interact with it. With the little I know about AI, that seems like a great stance to have.
Overall, I am so intrigued by this woman. Could she soon be considered the most Powerful person in this AI space? She certainly seems to be well educated and extremely smart. I am going to flag articles about her because her boss power is out of this world.
